Dear Members of the UWF Research Community,

The research you undertake contributes vitally to the success of the University of West Florida. It enriches our students’ learning, helps finds solutions to problems in the region, and contributes to the reputation of our faculty and the university itself. The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs is dedicated to support the research mission of the university and you, whether you are a seasoned researcher or just beginning to develop a research agenda. The office provides a full range of services to help researchers find funding sources, prepare proposals, and manage grants. Our staff are dedicated, well prepared professionals, many of whom have achieved national certification as Certified Research Administrators. The office is organized in functional groups:

• Proposal Development Grants Specialists help researchers find funding sources, prepare proposals and budgets, negotiate grant awards, and authorize grant contracts,
• Award Administration Financial Managers provide a full array of services to manage grant budgets and audits,
• Research Integrity oversees research compliance including the Institutional Review Board (IRB) For Human Research Participants Protection, Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and policies related to research misconduct and conflict of interest, and
• Technology Transfer/Intellectual Property (IP) which helps faculty with licensing and commercialization of inventions.
