To comply with federal laws, it is the policy of UWF to require that all key personnel (principal investigators, co-investigators, faculty advisors, data collectors/analyzers) involved in the conduct of human subjects research complete training in the protection of human research participants. There are two options for completing the training requirement (CITI or NIH). Key project personnel must also attest they have read the Belmont Report and UWF IRB Policies and Procedures.
There are two options for completing the training requirement. The content and format of these two training courses are similar. There is no cost for training, but registration is required. You may complete the training in one session or return at a later time. After completion of the training courses, you will receive a certificate. Please submit a copy of this certificate to the IRB office with your application.
First time user? These instructions will guide you through the registration process.
The CITI training program contains many educational modules. You will only be required to complete the modules that correspond with your IRB application. Use this chart to decide which training module is appropriate for you.
** CITI Training must be updated every 3 years in order for your certificate of completion to remain active. You will receive notification from CITI program and/or the UWF IRB Office regarding your need to participate in online refresher courses when the time nears. **
