It is the policy of UWF that all educational, training or research activities involving human subjects, at any UWF campus or by any UWF faculty, staff or student, must be reviewed and approved by the IRB prior to the initiation of data collection. Please allow 4-6 weeks for IRB review.
Members of the IRB are available to discuss the responsibilities of the IRB and researchers at department or organization meetings. 09/27/10 Dr. Terry J. Prewitt, Professor in the Anthropology and Archaeology Department (standing on the right) received a gavel plaque as tribute to his outstanding service as chair of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) for the Protection of Human Research Participants from 2007 through 2010. Dr. Richard Podemski, Associate Vice President for Research and Dean of the Graduate School presented the plaque to Dr. Prewitt at the September 15, 2010 meeting of the IRB.
